Catholic Lofi Releases Incorrupt Love
Choral Chants Meet Chill Beats in This Meditative Lofi Masterpiece
Catholic Lofi, the prolific producer, has released a new album to grace our ears. I found Catholic Lofi quite organically, looking to see if anyone had made lofi beats with Gregorian chants. You could say I was on a sacred quest for chill and this discovery hit the holy grail of vibes. Their 13th album release is no disappointment, with 20 incredibly chill tracks perfect for homework, relaxing, or meditative time in prayer/contemplation. It’s a long album in the best way.
At first glance, Catholic Lofi might come across as an AI project or a tongue-in-cheek take on niche music branding; the brain and talent behind Catholic Lofi is Matt Fradd, the host of Pints With Aquinas podcast, who is very much a real person.
I deeply love how Catholic Lofi incorporates choir-type chants into their beats. They’re beautifully ethereal and add an incredible atmosphere and space to the tracks where present. While I’m not Catholic myself, I find different chants and chorus music to be quite beautiful and relaxing. I remember how drawn into the first Halo game I was, with no small part being the incorporation of Gregorian chants in the main theme. Catholic Lofi very beautifully weaves these classic, almost holy sounds into their beats in the perfect way.
Whether you need some beats while you pray your rosary or just want to feel like you’ve finished a boss battle in a JRPG and are winding down, this album is fantastic for the vibes.
