DarkNuck Releases Breath Of The Wild - Rainy Hyrule
Hyrule at Dusk: DarkNuck’s Piano Tribute to Breath of the Wild
DarkNuck, our local Zelda lofi enthusiast, has been exploring a softer, more ambient side lately with a run of cozy piano albums—and Breath of the Wild - Rainy Hyrule might just be his most peaceful yet. Known for his love of all things Zelda, DarkNuck trades beat-heavy lofi for something simpler: a minimal piano soundscape wrapped in gentle rain.
From the opening notes, it’s clear this album is leaning into a minimal approach. Just piano, a touch of ambience, and the occasional surprise of guitar or strings. Piano renditions of game soundtracks were a big part of what inspired me to learn piano as a teen, and as a pianist myself, I’d say it doesn’t get much better than piano and reverb. Delicious.
As a dad of twins who just turned two, this album has been a lifesaver. We use it to help the kids settle down after a long day, and with the rain ambience, it could easily take the place of a white noise machine. It also pairs perfectly with a quiet evening in.
I put a ridiculous number of hours into Breath of the Wild (no, I didn’t find all the shrines or Koroks), and this album taps right into the feeling of running through rain-drenched fields or sliding down soaked cliffs 😭.
Whether you’re a Zelda fan or just someone in search of peace, this one’s worth pressing play on.
